Signal analyzer addresses mmWave challenges


The Keysight N9042B UXA signal analyzer delivers an unbanded, pre-selected sweep from 2 Hz to 110 GHz with 11 GHz of analysis bandwidth. With the N9042B, engineers can test the performance of millimeter-wave products used in 5G, aerospace and defense, satellite communications, and automotive radar markets.

Integrated PathWave X-Series measurement applications simplify complex tasks and deliver repeatable results with the N9042B. In addition, 89600 PathWave vector signal analysis software supports more than 75 signal standards and modulation types. The N9042B signal analyzer tests the true performance of 5G new radio (NR) transmitter designs with advanced error vector magnitude. Its displayed average noise level (DANL) of -174 dBm at 1 GHz helps find out-of-band emissions or spurs in radar designs.

The N9042B seamlessly interfaces with the V3050A frequency extender to achieve unbanded and pre-selected coverage up to 110 GHz. Other companion instruments to enhance the bench instrument’s measurement accuracy include the U9361 RCal receiver calibrator for improved receiver test system accuracy and the VXG microwave signal generator for wideband stimulus and response testing.

Prices for the N9042B UXA X-Series signal analyzer base instrument start at $81,334 (2 Hz to 26.5 GHz); $99,122 (2 Hz to 44 GHz); and $106,299 (2 Hz to 50 GHz).
