Xbox Series X Mini Fridge preorders to return in imminent UK restock

UK video game retailer GAME has outlined plans to reopen Xbox Series X Mini Fridge preorders, providing a second opportunity to buy ahead of its slated December release. It’s the latest opportunity to snag the device since preorders first opened on Oct. 19, where initial stock sold out within seconds of going live.

Given the anticipated high demand, the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will be available via the GAME website, with an online queueing system in place. GAME has stated preorders will be limited to one per customer, with delivery estimated for January 2022. The retailer will accept further preorders “this morning,” although failed to provide a specific time window.

The Xbox Series X Mini Fridge spawned from online trends popularized following the initial Xbox Series X console unveiling, comparing its monolithic all-black design to a refrigerator. Microsoft would later lean into the memes, shipping out full-sized fridges to rapper Snoop Dogg and YouTuber iJustine, testing the waters for a broader retail release. Microsoft would later unveil its Xbox Mini Fridge produced in collaboration with Ukonic! for a general release later in 2021.

Preorders first dropped on Oct. 19, exclusive to select retailers in North America and Europe. UK buyers would need to secure a device via local retailer GAME, although initial stock was swept up in seconds amid high demand. The $100 / £90 mini fridge would later fetch over three times the initial asking price via the resale market for those with successful preorders.

More Xbox Series X Mini Fridge stock is still to come, states Microsoft. Company representatives later said only a subset of allocated units were destined for preorders, with the product also slated to hit schedules once launched in December. Mini fridge production will continue into 2022, with more restocks slated for the future while expanding to new regions.
