Verus Research Secures $1.2 Million SBIR Phase II Award to Advance High-Power Microwave Technology

Verus Research has been awarded a $1.2 million Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) to further its work with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s High Power Microwave Division. This milestone emphasizes the company’s continued innovation in cutting-edge microwave technologies.

The Phase II project focuses on the Microwave Source with Frequency Tuning (MISFT), a groundbreaking tunable backward wave oscillator. The design is adaptable to various center frequencies, offering significant potential for advanced applications.

“The effort will involve fabrication, integration, and demonstration of the Phase I design,” said Dr. J. Mark DelGrande, Chief Technology Officer at Verus Research. “MISFT represents another Verus Research high-power microwave design that will see first light in the company’s electromagnetics lab.”
