BeRex Secures Patent to Improve the Efficiency of Power Amplifiers by Using Third Harmonic Feedback

BeRex, a leading innovator in RFIC design, has reached a major milestone with the granting of a new patent for its “Power Amplifier with Using Third Harmonic Feedback Improved Power Efficiency.” This cutting-edge technology significantly enhances power efficiency in transmitter RF power amplifiers for IoT Front-End Modules, achieving over 20% improvement compared to existing solutions.

Revolutionizing Power Amplifier Efficiency

Traditional Class F power amplifiers rely on passive harmonic filters to improve efficiency. However, BeRex’s patented approach actively utilizes a third harmonic feedback circuit in combination with the gate-to-source capacitance (Cgs) of the transistor to optimize the amplified signal’s waveform. This innovative method reduces power consumption while simultaneously boosting performance and reliability.

Taewon Jung, Design Lead at BeRex, emphasized the impact of this advancement: “This patent allows us to push the boundaries of efficiency in TX RF power amplifiers. By integrating this breakthrough technology into our IoT solutions, we’re enabling our customers to achieve superior performance while lowering power consumption.”

With this latest patent, BeRex’s RF IC intellectual property portfolio now includes 26 issued and active patents, with 13 additional patents pending. This further solidifies the company’s position as a leader in the RF amplifier market, consistently delivering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions.
