Mini-Circuits Introduces New 1 W GaAs MMIC Amplifier from 300 to 7500 MHz

Mini-Circuits has expanded the PMA3-series of wideband MMIC amplifiers by pushing drive power beyond 1 W in its new addition while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The PMA3-73-1W+ is a GaAs MMIC power amplifier operating from 300 to 7500 MHz. The amplifier provides 20.1 dB of gain & +33.5 dBm saturated output power and achieves +37 dBm output IP3 while operating from a single +12 V power supply. In addition, it is internally matched to 50 Ohms and is available in a 3×3 mm 12-Lead QFN-style package, making it a space saver in dense PCB layouts. These characteristics make it ideally suited for wideband test instrumentation and defense systems that require high operating output power while maintaining very low distortion characteristics.

The PMA3-73-1W+ delivers P1dB of 1.5 W and PSAT of over 2 W while exhibiting a remarkably low noise figure of 2.5 dB and still operating over 4.5 octaves of bandwidth. This big-power amplifier offers highly competitive performance for a fraction of the cost of similar solutions on the market. This versatile design is ideal as a driver amplifier, as well as in high dynamic range receivers.
