The Nubia Z80 Ultra is the latest flagship from the brand and it features several improvements over its predecessor, like the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a revised camera setup and a larger 7,200mAh Si/C battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. The phone was introduced in China earlier today and Nubia also confirmed it will hold a global launch on November 6.
Z80 Ultra brings a 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution (1,216 x 2,688 px) alongside a 144Hz refresh rate. Nubia is once again implementing an under-display camera, which boasts 16MP resolution and frees up the panel from any obstructions, so it’s a seamless canvas.
Nubia is bringing back the 35mm equivalent main cam, which uses a custom 1/1.3-inch Omnivision 990 sensor. It’s joined by a 64MP periscope using a 1/2″ sensor with 3x optical zoom. The third shooter is an 18mm equivalent ultrawide module with a 1/1.55-inch sensor.

The new AI photography filters recommend color profiles on the fly, but you can also tweak the color profiles manually.
Nubia is also offering an optional photography kit for CNY 669 ($95) too which has that vintage camera look. It brings a “T-mount” with support for external lenses and a cold shoe for microphones, fill lights and other accessories.
The phone is offered with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The SD Elite Gen 5 is joined by a composite liquid metal cooling solution like on the Red Magic gaming phones and you also get a 3D Ice Steel VC heat sink for optimal cooling.
Z80 Ultra in Light White, Phantom Black and Starry Sky Collector’s Edition
Nubia Z80 Ultra comes in Light White, Phantom Black and a Vincent van Gogh-inspired Starry Sky Collector’s Edition. Pricing starts at CNY 4,999 ($701) for the 12/512GB trim and goes up to CNY 5,999 ($842) for the Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.
