Teledyne SP Devices Introduces High-Speed 12-Bit Digitizer for Advanced Data Acquisition

Teledyne SP Devices, a manufacturer of digitizers and data acquisition systems, has introduced the ADQ35, a 12-bit high-speed digitizer for scientific, industrial and OEM applications. The digitizer is used in applications such as swept source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT), time-of-flight mass spectrometry, distributed fiber-optic sensing, LiDAR, scientific instrumentation and automated test equipment. These applications require the capture and processing of large volumes of data with low latency. The unit supports multi-GSPS sampling, real-time processing and high-speed data transfer, and can be positioned close to the detector to maintain signal integrity in compact or noise-sensitive environments.

It provides dual-channel sampling at 5 GSPS or single-channel operation at 10 GSPS, with 12-bit vertical resolution. The DC-coupled analog front end supports up to 2.5 GHz input bandwidth with a 0.5 Vpp input range. An 8 Gbyte onboard memory enables extended data capture, and peer-to-peer streaming to GPUs reaches up to 14 Gbyte/s for real-time data transfer. Programmable DC offset and availability in PCIe and USB 3.2 form factors support system integration.

The platform supports application-specific firmware packages, including standard data acquisition, waveform averaging, pulse detection and SS-OCT signal conditioning. An AMD Kintex Ultrascale KU115 FPGA provides resources for implementing digital signal processing directly on the digitizer, reducing the need for post-processing and enabling real-time operation.

Hardware and software tools are available for OEM integration, and the digitizer integrates with Digitizer Studio software for configuration and control.
