Airspan and ATIKA Venture have entered into a collaboration to develop 5G connectivity solutions for military use. The arrangement has defined a framework for joint commercial and technical work, beginning in Spain with the option to expand into other European markets.
The collaboration has combined Airspan’s experience in Open RAN, 5G, and air-to-ground communications with Atika’s deployable tactical networks, AI-based network management, and 5G core capabilities. The companies plan to deliver secure communications systems that support land and air operations by integrating deployable 5G infrastructure, multi-domain MANET connectivity, network orchestration, and airborne-to-ground links for use in changing operational environments.
