Our browser is the gateway to the online world but, unfortunately, not all the pages we visit are 100% safe. Particularly, JavaScript content can be used for cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks and data exploiting, posing security risks that might not be worth taking.
Also available for Firefox, NoScript is a Chrome browser add-on designed to block potentially dangerous content and help you filter the pages that are allowed to execute JavaScript and Java code. Having this extra security shield, your overall browsing experience becomes more secure.
Blocks JavaScript and other content automatically
NoScript can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store and easily installed in the browser. Once you do so, a new small button is displayed in the browser’s toolbar, right next to the address bar.
NoScript for Chrome runs silently, blocking all the potentially dangerous content on the pages you visit, all without your intervention. Note that pages that were already opened when NoScript for Chrome was installed might need to be reloaded for the add-on to do its magic.

Configure per-site permissions and whitelist secure domains
The small window that appears when clicking on NoScript’s button reveals a few settings that can be customized. Pages can be whitelisted temporarily or permanently with the click of a button and, what is more, temporary permissions can be revoked just as easily and quickly.
You get three predefined configurations in NoScript for Chrome, which come with different approaches when it comes to blocking or allowing dynamic capabilities in Chrome. While the default configuration is more balanced, the “Trusted” and the “Untrusted” presets come with approaches that might cater to those who have a higher and a lower adversity to risk, respectively.
