vivo began the international rollout of the X300 FE last month, and a few days ago, it introduced the smartphone in India alongside the X300 Ultra at an event hosted in New Delhi. The vivo X300 FE (FE means Fashion Edition) will be available in India in Noir Black, Lilac Purple, and Urban Olive colors. The Urban Olive colorway is exclusive to India, at least initially, and we got our hands on one, so let’s take a closer look at it.
The retail package for the vivo X300 FE Urban Olive model is the same as for other color versions and includes a nice protective case that matches the phone’s color.

The vivo X300 FE features a 6.31″ 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display of 2,640×1,216-pixel resolution on the front. It’s protected by Schott Xensation Core glass and has a punch-hole for a 50MP selfie camera, with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath for biometric authentication.

Around the back is a horizontal camera module (or visor, if you prefer calling it that) spanning the width of the rear cover. It has a matte finish and houses a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera – all joined by an LED flash, called “Adaptive Zoom Flash” by vivo.

The vivo X300 FE Urban Olive’s back panel – like other color models – is covered in glass, but it has a Metal Sand AG (anti-glare) finish, which did a great job of resisting smudges.
The shade of green on the vivo X300 FE’s Urban Olive appears different depending on the lighting conditions and the angle at which light reflects its surface. Regardless, it is darker than that of the X300 Ultra’s Victory Green, and while user preferences may vary, we like both colorways as they add a fresh, funky look to both lineups.

The vivo X300 FE Urban Olive’s aluminum frame matches the color of the phone’s back cover, and it has a matte finish that not only resists smudges but also gives the phone a premium in-hand feel. The volume rocker and power button, located on the X300 FE’s right side, also have nice feedback.

We liked the vivo X200 FE‘s overall design and build, and our opinion about the X300 FE is no different. The X300 FE is built well, has a premium in-hand feel, and its compact design makes one-handed use very easy. And thanks to the new rear camera layout, the X300 FE doesn’t wobble like the X200 FE when used on a flat surface.
