How to save $400 on the Saatva Classic the last-chance Memorial Day sale

Time is running out to shop the Memorial Day mattress sales so let’s cut to the chase: the Saatva Classic is the bed I recommend to almost every sleeper and you can still save $400 on all sizes of this 5-star luxury mattress at Saatva.

I’ve been hands-on with every bed in our best mattress guide and while they all have their strengths, it’s the Saatva Classic that stands out. As soon as I reclined on its luxurious surface, I could feel my tension drop away. The support is incredible for almost every sleep style and with exceptional breathability, there’s few people I don’t think this bed would suit.

The Memorial Day mattress deals are coming to an end and this Saatva mattress sale is my favorite of them all. But it’s not going to stick around forever, so here’s why I think you should invest.

3 ways the Saatva Classic aced our tests

1. Pressure relief you can’t argue with

Pressure relief describes the balance of cushioning and support that prevents parts of your body growing numb or painful during the night. It’s an important metric in our mattress testing methodology and something the Saatva Classic gets close to perfect.

Even better, I found the Luxury Firm Saatva Classic comfortable in nearly all sleep positions. Many of our top-rated mattresses, like the Helix Midnight Luxe or the DreamCloud, have ideal relief for say, side sleepers or back sleepers, but are lacking when it comes to other sleep preferences.

But that Saatva Classic cradled my shoulder when side sleeping and supported my lumbar when stomach sleeping — nearly perfect all-round.

2. Stays cool during the night

We use a thermal camera to help determine how good a mattress is at temperature control — maintaining a sleep-friendly cool or neutral feel during the night — and I watched as the Saatva Classic kicked out heat almost as soon as it touched the surface.

It’s one of the best cooling mattresses we’ve tested as the airy build and natural materials allow warmth to circulate and disperse. The Bear Elite Hybrid just outperformed the Saatva Classic with its speedy cooling (we recommend it to chronic hot sleepers) but the Classic is top of the class when it comes to maintaining a steady feel.

3. Top-rated edge support

Edge support, how sturdy a bed is at the sides, is an often underrated mattress feature. but it’s one of my highlights of the Saatva Classic. I tried lying as close to the edge of the mattress as possible and I was dangling off the sides before gravity pulled me to the ground.

That’s good news for bed sharers (you can use the full surface of the mattress) and solo sleepers who like to stretch out.

But when I consider edge support, I always ask: what would my mom say? Due to a dodgy knee she likes being able to push against the sides of a mattress when getting out of bed. She agreed the Siena mattress and the Plank Firm are useful supports but the Saatva Classic would blow her away.

Not sold on the Saatva Classic? Try these alternatives

The Saatva Classic is good for everyone… almost. As one of the best luxury mattresses we’ve tested, it’s not for people on a tight budget. It also has a relatively limited weight capacity, meaning it’s not a suitable mattress for people with a bigger build.

These are the alternatives I recommend instead:
