Pendulum Instruments, a global expert in time and frequency measurement, analysis, and calibration, announced the new PFA-127 Power and Frequency Analyzer.
Based on Pendulum’s award-winning Multi-Channel, CNT-100 Frequency Analyzer series, parallel gap-free measurements of power, frequency, pulse Width and PRI (Pulse Repetition Interval), can now be performed in a single instrument delivering better test efficiency and versatility than ever before.
Key functionalities are inherited from the pioneering CNT-100 series, including simultaneous frequency measurements on both RF and 400 MHz baseband channels. The RF channel performs additional CW power, modulation and pulsed power measurements over a standard 15 GHz frequency range, which can easily be expanded up to 20 or 27 GHz via SW license in the field as test requirements or budgets dictate. Power measurements over -30 to +30 dBm range with an impressive 0.01dB resolution in a one microsecond gate time, enables RF pulses as short as 100 ns to be captured and saved to internal memory at a rate of 20M values/sec.
The PFA-127 is targeted at high-speed radar, microwave component, wireless telecom and general R&D applications where precise frequency and reliable pulse or continuous wave power measurements are critical in production environments, benchtop testing and performance verification of field installed equipment.
“Over the past few years, we have noted a sharp increase in customer requests to add high-speed RF power measurements to our multichannel frequency analyzers” said Harald Kruger, CEO of Pendulum Instruments. “Responding to the growing demand from our customers worldwide, we leveraged existing product designs and exploited our long-standing engineering expertise to create a unique model focused on parallel power and frequency measurements. A multifunctional PFA-127 affordably replaces a Microwave frequency counter and a Peak power meter up to 27 GHz in the same box, satisfying the evolving test needs of the microwave community” he continued.
The new PFA-127 Power & Frequency Analyzer will be showcased at European Microwave Week (EuMW 2026) taking place from 4 to 9 October 2026 at Excel London, UK. This prestigious event assembles industry experts from the RF/microwave, wireless and radar community to exchange ideas, view latest product innovations, all of which help shape future technological directions.
