Force Effect Launches PARALLAX: Realistic GNSS Jamming and Spoofing Training Without Transmitting Over-the-Air

Platform-mounted simulator feeds realistic jamming and spoofing straight into any GNSS receiver, so units can train for contested navigation/timing on live exercises with nothing radiated. On show at I/ITSEC and AOC in December.

Force Effect has launched PARALLAX, a GNSS threat simulator that lets forces train against satellite navigation jamming and spoofing on live exercises without putting a single watt over the air.

GNSS interference is now a fact of life on operations, but on training areas it barely exists. Jamming on a range means airspace coordination, regulatory approval and tight control of emissions, so most units never practice against it at all. The first time they meet it is when it matters.

PARALLAX fits between a platform’s GNSS antenna and its receiver, mixing the real satellite signal with controlled jamming or spoofing across any GNSS constellation. The receiver sees a contested environment; nothing is radiated. It works with any GNSS receiver on any platform with no integration work, so it can go on vehicles, boats, ships and uncrewed systems, and they can exercise exactly as they’d operate.

Planners lay out the threat on a map: place virtual jammers, set their power and waveform, and schedule when they switch on. Each unit knows where it is and models the signal path to every jammer, terrain included, so as a platform moves across the exercise area its navigation degrades, drops out or gets quietly pulled off course, just as it would for real. Two independent jamming channels mean a single unit can face more than one threat at once.

Once a scenario is loaded the units run themselves, but exercise staff can watch and adjust every one of them from a single workstation, changing waveform, frequency or power on the fly. An API lets PARALLAX plug into wider exercise management systems.

“Every recent conflict has shown that if you depend on GNSS, someone will try to take it away from you. Most forces only find out how their kit and their people cope when it happens for real. PARALLAX lets them find out on exercise instead, with no spectrum clearances to chase and no risk of jamming anyone else,” said Josh Sims, Managing Director, Force Effect.

PARALLAX is available now to government, defence and other approved end users, and is controlled under the UK Military List (ML11.b).

Force Effect will demonstrate PARALLAX at I/ITSEC in Orlando, Florida (booth 1637) and at the AOC International Symposium and Convention in Washington, DC (booth 1115) in December 2026. Meetings can be booked in advance:
