2. Let Gemini watch YouTube videos for you
Prompt to try: Analyze this video: [YouTube URL]. Extract the five core arguments, three counterarguments and any important data points mentioned. Then summarize the key insights.
Gemini can analyze videos when you paste in a YouTube link — which is perfect when you don’t want to sit through a long lecture or presentation. It’s surprisingly effective at pulling out the most useful insights from long videos.
3. Break through tough decisions
Prompt to try: I’m trying to decide whether to [decision]. Act as three advisors:
1) a risk-averse CFO 2) a visionary CEO 3) an HR director concerned about burnout.
AI can also help you think through difficult choices by simulating different perspectives. Use this prompt and have Gemini debate the pros and cons and recommend the best course of action.
This works because Gemini can generate multiple viewpoints in a single conversation, helping you see angles you might not have considered.
4. Create a song then send it as a text
Prompt to try: Generate a [Genre, e.g., Lo-fi Indie Pop] song about [Topic, e.g., a rainy afternoon in a coffee shop]. Make it feel [Mood, e.g., nostalgic and cozy] with [Instruments, e.g., an acoustic guitar and soft piano]. Include a [Style, e.g., soulful female] vocal.
With Lyria 3 added to the chat box, you can ask Gemini to create a song for just about anything. I even made a song for my husband’s to-do list. Whether in the Gemini app or on desktop, you can then download the song and send it.
5. Turn Gemini into a project planner

One of the best features of Gemini, in my opinion, is how seamlessly it connects to Google Workspace. It can pull information from your files to help organize projects. For anyone already working inside Google tools, this can turn Gemini into a personal project assistant. Try it within Gmail, Google Sheets and more.
6. Reimagine photos with AI
Prompt to try: Reimagine this photo in the style of a 1920s jazz club. Use dramatic lighting (chiaroscuro) and make it look like vintage 35mm film with heavy grain.
Because Gemini can understand images, you can upload a photo and ask it to transform the style. This is a fun way to experiment with Gemini’s image-generation capabilities.
7. Be a film director
Prompt to try: I have an idea for a short film scene: [Your Idea]. Write a 30-second script for this scene with dialogue and stage directions. Then, generate a cinematic image of the most visually striking moment from that script. Finally, suggest a musical mood (instruments and tempo) that should play in the background.”
This multi-step prompt is one of my favorites because it really highlights everything the model can do in a single step. It shows its writing abilities as well as what it can do as concept artist, creative director and sound engineer. And if you don’t like the “shot,” you can reprompt it with something like, “change the lighting to neon pink” or “make the detective look more weary.”
