PEI-Genesis, a distributor and assembler of electronic connectors and cable assemblies, supplying interconnect solutions, announced its 80th anniversary, marking eight decades of operations in the connector and interconnect industry.
Founded in 1946 by Bernie Bernbaum and Murray Fisher, PEI-Genesis began as an electronics distribution business in Philadelphia supplying vacuum tubes and test equipment to engineers in the post-World War II era. Through acquisitions and product expansion, the company grew alongside developments in the electronics industry.
Over time, PEI-Genesis expanded across North America, Europe and Asia, establishing operations to support connector and interconnect requirements for engineers and OEMs.
In 2022, the company acquired Testco, Inc., a supplier serving the industrial and power electronics markets. The acquisition expanded PEI-Genesis’ activities in engineered interconnect solutions for industrial applications. In 2023, the company expanded into the RF connector market, adding high-frequency connectivity products to its portfolio. More recently, PEI-Genesis announced the acquisition of Bel Stewart s.r.o., adding connector and manufacturing capabilities and expanding its international operations.
“Celebrating 80 years is a reflection of our founders’ vision, the dedication of our employees, and the trust our customers place in us,” said Steven Fisher, Chairman and CEO of PEI-Genesis. “Our ICARE values continue to guide how we work, how we serve, and how we show up to our customers and one another. While technology continues to advance, our commitment to expertise, service, and partnership remains unchanged.”
PEI-Genesis works with connector manufacturers and assembles connector solutions in its facilities, supporting applications across military, industrial, aerospace, medical, transportation and energy sectors.
