AntennaWare and Morse Micro Partner to Advance Sub-GHz Wi-Fi HaLow Connectivity

AntennaWare has announced a partnership with Morse Micro, a Sydney-based specialist in Wi-Fi HaLow technology, to deliver low-profile wireless connectivity solutions for Industrial IoT, healthcare, and smart agriculture applications operating in the sub-1 GHz band.

The collaboration integrates AntennaWare’s BodyWave™ antenna technology with Wi-Fi HaLow platforms to address deployment challenges in long-range wireless systems. Wi-Fi HaLow is designed to provide extended range and improved signal penetration, supporting applications such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) 2.0 and grid-edge intelligence.

In many deployments, devices rely on monopole antennas to achieve the required transmission distance across industrial, construction, healthcare, and agricultural environments. However, monopole antennas can be vulnerable to physical damage, creating reliability concerns in systems that depend on continuous data connectivity.

BodyWave™ Antenna Technology is based on patented technology and is designed to improve link margins in both on-metal and on-body environments. According to the companies, the technology provides gains of 6 to 12 dB in non-line-of-sight (NLoS) conditions while maintaining comparable performance in line-of-sight scenarios. These improvements can increase communication range or reduce power consumption in wireless devices. The antenna is available in low-profile surface-mount (SMT) and external monopole-replacement form factors, enabling device designers to maintain coverage levels comparable to traditional monopole antennas while reducing size and improving durability.
