Amphenol RF has introduced a new rear-mount bulkhead SMA jack as part of its expanding portfolio of high-frequency SMA end-launch connectors. The connector supports operation up to 26.5 GHz and enables secure panel mounting while maintaining signal integrity in RF and microwave systems. It provides low VSWR performance to support reliable impedance matching and stable signal transmission. Its end-launch PCB interface features a 10 mm center pin that supports controlled impedance transitions at the board edge. This SMA bulkhead jack is suitable for RF and microwave instrumentation, enclosure-mounted communication systems, and industrial RF equipment.
The SMA bulkhead jack is constructed with a gold-plated brass body and beryllium copper contact for enhanced conductivity. Additional features include a gold-plated brass hex nut and washer and a natural PTFE insulator for electrical insulation and corrosion resistance. The connector offers a 500 mating cycle interface and meets MIL-STD-348 specifications to ensure compatibility with standard SMA mating connectors.
According to Amphenol RF, the new connector joins a growing portfolio of high-frequency edge-launch interconnect solutions designed to deliver high-density, low-loss connections while eliminating the need for cables and reducing signal path lengths. The connectors are available through authorized distribution partners.
