TJ Green LLC announced the 29th Annual Components for Military & Space Electronics (CMSE) Conference & Exhibition, set for April 28–30, 2026, at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif.
Now in its 29th year, CMSE remains the industry’s premier event dedicated to the design, reliability, qualification and application of electronic components for mission-critical avionics, aerospace, military and space systems. The conference delivers actionable technical insights, expert keynotes, hands-on tutorials and unparalleled networking opportunities for component engineers, suppliers, program managers and young professionals entering the defense and space sectors.
Highlighting Keynote Speakers
The 2026 program features an outstanding lineup of visionary leaders addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities in military and space microelectronics:
- Devanand K. Shenoy, Ph.D., IBM Research – “Microelectronics: Critical Enabler for Innovation in Commercial and Military Systems”
- Muhammad Akbar, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) – “DLA Standards and Specifications Benefit the Military and Space Users’ Community”
- Denis Lacombe, European Space Agency (ESA) – “ESCC Evolution: Enhanced Grade Component for Improving the Availability of Strategic EEE Components in Europe”
- Dennis M. Zogbi, Paumanok – “Ultra-Low Loss & Precision Passive Components for Quantum Computing: Market Opportunities & Technology”.
These keynotes will be complemented by additional high-impact presentations in dedicated keynote sessions, including “Limitations in Today’s Passive Electrical Components” by Dr. Eric Langlois of BAE Systems.
Comprehensive Tutorial Program (April 28)
Attendees can choose from four targeted tutorials delivered by recognized industry experts:
- Advanced Microelectronic Component Engineering Principles and Practices (Full Day) – Led by Thomas J. Green (TJ Green Associates), Ron Demcko (Kyocera/AVX), Trevor Devaney (Hi-Rel Labs), and Jerad Jose (Vishay)
- Introduction to Electronics Failure Analysis (Half-Day AM) – Ken Turner, Hi-Rel Laboratories
- Introduction to and Advances in 2.3D Fan-Out Wafer Level Packaging (FO-WLP) (Half-Day PM) – Beth Keser, Volantis Semiconductor
- Understanding the Military Standards and Update on JEDEC and New Spec Initiatives (1.5 Hours) – Shri Agarwal (NASA JPL), Ben Mendoza (Promex Industries), and Adam Johnson (Integra Technologies).
RF and Microwave-Focused Technical Presentations
CMSE 2026 features a robust technical program with multiple sessions dedicated to RF and microwave components critical to radar, communications, electronic warfare and high-frequency space applications. Confirmed RF/microwave-related presentations include:
- “Eliminating Wirebonds in RF Modules: A New Class of Low-ESL Capacitors” – Mark Simpson, UTC & Eulex (Evans Group)
- “Predicting TVA Attenuation Across Temperature Using Measurement-Based Mathematical Models” – Wes Laquerre, IMS
- “Integrated Thin-Film Resistor Materials for High-Frequency Applications” – John Andresakis, Ohmega Ticer
- “The Design of Ultra Narrow-Band Amplifiers for High Sensitivity Receiver Front-Ends Using Negative Resistance Devices …” Dr. Ash (Ashok) Gorwara and Dr. Alfred I Grayzel, Gorwara & Associates International, Inc.
Additional sessions on advanced passive components, thermal management for high-power RF systems, and precision interconnects for RF modules will further support microwave engineers working on next generation military and space platforms.
The full technical program also includes timely topics such as COTS integration, additive manufacturing, thermal interface materials and AI-driven reliability prediction — all tailored to the unique demands of harsh-environment electronics.
Exhibition, Networking and Special Events
The CMSE Exhibition Hall will showcase over 35 leading suppliers of high-reliability capacitors, resistors, substrates, packaging, microelectronic and RF Components and test solutions. Buffet lunches and coffee breaks (sponsored by Kyocera/AVX and Presidio) will be held in the exhibit area, along with a Welcome Reception on April 29 (6:00–8:00 pm). A special Student & Young Professional Reception is scheduled for April 28.
