Mercury Systems Introduces Two New MMIC Mixers Covering Frequencies from S to Ka-Band

Mercury Systems has developed two new broadband mixer solutions – AM5007 & AM5008 – designed for versatile applications requiring exceptional bandwidth and performance from S to Ka-band. These wideband double-balanced mixers have an RF Frequecny from 6 to 27 GHz / 6 to 24 GHz and are available in standard 3mm surface-mountable QFN packages.

AM5007: 6 to 27 GHz Double Balanced Mixer

AM5007 is a wideband, double-balanced mixer that provides performance across the K and Ka-bands. With low conversion loss and high linearity, the mixer is designed to operate in demanding, low-SWaP-C applications where size and cost are critical. The AM5007 can be paired with Mercury’s AM1157 Driver Amplifier to provide the necessary LO drive level into the mixer.

Key Features:

  • 6 to 27 GHz RF
  • 7 dB Conversion Loss
  • DC to 8 GHz IF
  • +20 dBm IIP3
  • 40 dB Typical LO to RF Isolation
  • +13 dBm to +20 dBm LO drive
  • 3mm SMT QFN Package
  • -40C to +85C Operation

AM5008: 2 to 24 GHz RF/LO Frequency Range

AM5008 is a double-balanced mixer offering industry-leading broadband coverage from S to K-band. Packaged in a 3mm QFN, the AM5008 mixer is ideally suited for low SWaP-C applications. Mercury provides multiple amplifier options to drive the LO, such as AM1136 or AM1160.

Key Features:

  • 2 to 24 GHz RF
  • 8.5 dB Conversion Loss
  • DC to 3 GHz IF
  • +18 dBm IIP3
  • 16 to 20 dBm LO drive
  • 38 dB Typical LO to RF Isolation
  • 3 mm SMT QFN Package
  • -40 °C to +85 °C Operation
