Aaronia once again surprised trade visitors with innovative solutions, this time including high-frequency waveguides for simplified setup of waveguide measurement applications, as well as waveguide and coaxial connectors for direct PCB mounting. Solderless PCB connectors with identical footprints allow screw and waveguide connectors to be swapped at any time. These are currently designed for WR08, WR10, WR12 and WR15 waveguides, as well as 1-mm and 1.85-mm coaxial connectors. “Every detail is crucial to the final quality of our products,” says Peter May, Head of Measurement Technology at Aaronia AG. “Accordingly, we devote the same attention to every component and meticulously refine every detail until the end result meets our standards for manufacturing the world’s best products ‘Made in Germany.’”
In addition, the Aaronia analyzers of the SPECTRAN® V6 family once again caused a sensation, as they enable the digitization of enormous real-time bandwidths, offer impressive sweep speeds and cover vast frequency ranges. The SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzers of the XPR family, for example, with sweep speeds of >3 THz/s or real-time bandwidths up to 490 MHz — some equipped with state-of-the-art waveguide technology — impressed the technical audience at Satellite in Washington, D.C. The ease of analyzing high-frequency and rapidly changing signals in the microwave range, as well as their evaluation, was a resounding success, as was the model-dependent frequency range from 9 kHz to 140 GHz.
The 100XA-18 model from the SPECTRAN® V6 ECO family features a frequency range of 9 kHz to 18 GHz and an RTBW of > 50 MHz. In addition, the already impressive standard sweep speed of approximately 500 GHz/s can be increased to over 3 THz/s via a software license — all through a single USB 3.1 port. “The analyzers demonstrated their strengths particularly in the X- and Ku-Bands, which are used for military and commercial applications such as SatCom,” adds May. “For the first time, we were able to demonstrate the SPECTRAN® V6 MOBILE 100TA-18 device, based on our proprietary tablet PC, to an interested audience of industry professionals. It is the world’s first portable real-time spectrum analyzer with a sweep speed of well over 1.5 THz/s at an 18 GHz span. Trade visitors were enthusiastic about this portable, high-performance solution for monitoring and geolocating high-frequency signals in the 18-GHz range. The SPECTRAN® V6 MOBILE 100TA-18 solves a fundamental problem in satellite communications: the simple detection of interference during live operation of the ground station.”
Similarly, the new AARTOS direction-finding solutions caused quite a stir, such as the AARTOS DF9 solution based on IsoLOG and the SPECTRAN® V6 Command Center. The combination of a high-performance direction-finding antenna array, an extremely high-performance multi-receiver processing unit, and the powerful RTSA-Suite PRO PC software creates a DF (direction-finding) system capable of reliably detecting and locating any signal over distances of several kilometers. A network of systems enables the geolocation of every signal within the respective system’s reception range, which is also available for C-, X- and Ku-Band.
