“Roommates” has proven to be quite the hit with Netflix subscribers. The new college comedy only dropped on Friday, April 17, but it quickly shot straight to the top of the streaming service‘s charts, dethroning the disappointing creature feature (“Thrash“) that’s been sitting at the top of the Netflix top 10 movies list all week.
If you’re yet to dive in, the film revolves around two college freshmen — Devon (Sadie Sandler, daughter of Adam Sandler) and Celeste (Chloe East) — who become fast friends, but just as quickly pivot to being enemies.

‘Do Revenge’ (2022)
If you want another watch you can stream on Netflix, I’d recommend checking out Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s “Do Revenge.” Released in 2022, this twisty teen revenge comedy movie introduces us to Drea (Camila Mendes), the it-girl on campus whose life is suddenly turned upside down.
Drea’s not content to let whoever ruined her life get away with it, though. After a chance meeting at a tennis camp, she teams up with Eleanor (Maya Hawke), who also wants to get her revenge on a school bully from her past. They form an unlikely partnership and set out to get revenge on one another’s tormentors.

‘Bottoms’ (2023)
Emma Seligman’s outrageous teen comedy remains one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in the last few years. I’ve already written about “Bottoms” on Tom’s Guide before, but with an R-rated comedy at the top of Netflix’s charts, I figure this is another great chance to shout it out.
Billed as “refreshingly unique” by MGM, “Bottoms” revolves around two high school seniors — PJ (Rachel Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Edebiri) — who hatch an unorthodox plan to try and get their crushes’ attention. Together, they launch a girls’ self-defence class/fight club (despite not having any real fighting experience). Initially, it works like a charm, and they’re soon duking it out with some of the most popular girls at school… but the pair soon find themselves in over their heads and in desperate need of a way out.

‘Mean Girls’ (2004)
I’ll round out my recommendations with an all-out comedy classic: the beloved “Mean Girls,” written by Tina Fey.
This iconic teen comedy revolves around Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), a new student who swapped life in Africa with her zoologist parents for North Shore High School. There, she’s taken in by Regina George (Rachel McAdams) and her clique of popular girls, “The Plastics.” Problems arise when Cady makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, and the trouble that brews between them throws the whole school environment into complete disarray.
