As this is an extension, you will need to have Chrome and install it in the typical way after you grab it from the dedicated web store. To get started, I created a new wallet, but you can use an existing one, if you are already dealing with Ethereum cryptocurrency.
At this point, I was redirected to a page that explained why the developer needs to collect some usage data and I had to agree to proceed. You can secure the wallet, and the extension provides a short video showing how you can do that exactly.
The GUI is sleek and straightforward, providing a simplified place for buying, storing, sending, and swapping tokens. It also includes an overview. For receiving tokens, you need to scan the QR code provided, while for buying you are redirected to MetaMask Portfolio, where you need to connect your account.
