Mini-Circuits Introduces LTCC Bandpass Filter from 9.5-13.5 GHz

Mini-Circuits has introduced the BFHK-1202+, an LTCC surface-mount bandpass filter designed for RF systems operating from 9.5 to 13.5 GHz, covering the upper X-band through the lower edge of the Ku-band. The filter can integrate into test and measurement equipment, satellite communication systems, and aerospace and defense signal-conditioning architectures.

The BFHK-1202+ is intended for compact surface-mount applications that require clean signal transmission and strong suppression of out-of-band signals. Within its passband, the filter provides a typical insertion loss of 0.85 dB and a center frequency of 11.5 GHz in a 50-ohm system. The filter supports bi-directional operation, allowing the RF input and output ports to be interchanged. Electrical performance is specified at +25°C, with stable operation maintained across a temperature range of −55°C to +125°C.

Outside the passband, the device delivers high stopband rejection across a wide frequency span. Rejection reaches 46 dB from 0.1 to 4.5 GHz and extends up to 74 dB through 30 GHz, supporting effective mitigation of unwanted signals, harmonics, and interference in densely populated RF environments. These characteristics make the filter suitable for use in complex signal chains where spectral cleanliness is critical.

The BFHK-1202+ is rated to handle up to 1 W of RF input power and is fabricated using an LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic) distributed filter topology. Its shielded ceramic construction helps prevent performance shifts due to environmental or board-level interactions, supporting repeatable behavior across manufacturing lots and operating conditions.

Packaged in a standard 1812 surface-mount case measuring 4.5 × 3.2 mm, the filter uses an LGA (Land Grid Array) footprint. This makes it compact, high-performance, and easy to manufacture in volume. The device is supplied with tin-over-nickel plating, complies with RoHS and REACH requirements, and is suitable for high-volume production environments.
