BeRex Launches Ultra High Isolation SP4T/SP5T RF Switches for Wireless Infrastructure Applications

BeRex Corporation has launched a range of ultra high isolation absorptive RF switches, designed for advanced 6G, 5G, 4G, and 3G wireless infrastructure applications. The BSW6540, BSW6543, BSW6550, and BSW6553 are SP4T (Single-Pole, Quad-Throw) and SP5T (Single-Pole, Quint-Throw) RF switches engineered to deliver high isolation, wide bandwidth, low insertion loss, and strong linearity performance for modern wireless communication systems.

Operating on a single supply voltage ranging from 2.7 to 5.5V, the BSW6540 and BSW6543 SP4T switches support a broad frequency range from 5 MHz to 10 GHz, while the BSW6550 and BSW6553 SP5T switches operate up to 9 GHz in 50Ω systems. Utilizing BeRex’s patent-granted technology, the new switches provide exceptionally high isolation performance, reaching up to 59 dB between RF ports at 4 GHz. Despite delivering industry-leading isolation, the devices maintain low insertion loss levels ranging from 0.73 dB to 1.06 dB, ensuring efficient RF signal transmission across demanding wireless applications.

The new RF switches are specifically optimized for wireless infrastructure applications such as 5G base transceiver stations (BTS), distributed antenna systems (DAS), and other high-frequency RF systems. In addition to low insertion loss and high isolation, the devices also offer high-linearity performance with IP1dB values up to 35.6 dBm and IIP3 values up to 64 dBm, making them suitable for environments that require strong signal integrity and reliable RF switching performance.

BeRex has introduced the products in compact QFN package options to support space-efficient designs. The BSW6540 and BSW6550 are available in 24-lead 4.0 x 4.0 x 0.75 mm QFN packages, while the BSW6543 and BSW6553 are offered in smaller 20-lead 3.0 x 3.0 x 0.55 mm QFN packages. The switches also feature ESD Human Body Model protection ratings ranging from ±1.0 kV to ±2.0 kV across all pins, enhancing reliability in commercial and industrial applications. Additionally, the devices do not require external DC blocking capacitors when DC is not present at the RF ports, simplifying system design and reducing component count.

The BSW6540 and BSW6543 deliver insertion loss as low as 0.6 dB and 0.71 dB respectively at 2 GHz, while maintaining strong isolation performance across multiple frequency ranges. Similarly, the BSW6550 and BSW6553 SP5T switches provide low insertion loss and ultra high isolation across RFc-to-RFx and RFx-to-RFx paths, supporting efficient operation in complex RF front-end architectures. Switching times for all four models range from approximately 95 ns to 180 ns, enabling fast and responsive switching performance in wireless communication systems.
