YouTube Music is an important player in the music streaming industry, and the fact that it’s bundled with YouTube Premium means that a large user base can access and enjoy it. If you’re not a fan of the design on the browser version, then it’s possible to modify it by way of browser add-ons.
One such add-on comes in the form of ThemeSong for Chrome, which gives you the tools you need to modify the look of your YouTube Music interface in several ways. Aside from that, you also get some cool amenities, such as a variety of visualizers, a sleep timer, as well as quick links to look up a song on the web.
A more customizable YouTube Music
The extension effectively lets users customize the interface of their YouTube Music to whatever they like. You get access to Static and Dynamic themes, which can be fine-tuned to your liking. There are also options to mimic Apple Music and YouTube Music Mobile’s interfaces.
Another highlight feature is the Visualizers function, which can work to make your listening experience a little more engaging. I somehow liked the Experimental and Spider-Verse ones best, but the Circles and Bars ones were quite nice too.
Other interface adjustment options can be found in the Pieces menu. You can hide certain UI elements you have no use for: the Cast, Dislike, and Video Captions buttons, respectively.
Some extra amenities to consider
Besides accessing the extension from the browser menu, it’s also possible to tap into its functions via YouTube Music’s interface. The button is positioned near the center, next to the like and dislike buttons.
It’s good to consider some of the additional functions on offer. Sleep Timer can help you put a stop to your music automatically after some time. The song desktop notifications looked good in my view, so I enabled those. I also appreciated that I could quickly look up a song and its lyrics on the web with the provided quick links to Genius, Musixmatch, Google, and YouTube.
An add-on to consider if you often use YouTube Music
ThemeSong for Chrome is a well-made add-on that can enrich your YouTube Music listening sessions. I had a pleasant experience and would recommend it to anyone who wants a little more from their YouTube Music, mostly looks-wise.
