Behaviour Interactive just finished celebrating Dead by Daylight with its 10th Anniversary Broadcast, and we were there to round up all of the highlights.
It was a jam-packed show that ran for more than an hour and a half, but looking at the list of announcements, it’s easy to see why. A deep dive into the visual overhaul set to launch next year was truly just the tip of the iceberg, with other big moments showing off sneak peeks at Scooby-Doo and Diablo Collections, Survivor Shane Wiigwaas, the Dead by Daylight movie, and even an upcoming Chapter based on Damien Leone’s Terrifier.
Behaviour has a lot in store to help make its 10th year of Dead by Daylight special, and today’s show was just a taste of what’s to come. To see everything the team had to talk about, you can check out everything announced at the Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Broadcast below.
The Dead by Daylight Movie Is Alive, and It Has a New Director
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and chief product officer and producer Stephen Mulrooney joined the 10th Anniversary Broadcast stage to talk about the previously announced Dead by Daylight movie. With the screenplay from Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick complete, the team announced that The Damned and The Valhalla Murders alum Thordur Palsson has boarded as the project’s director.
“For me, the main thing is capturing the feeling of playing Dead by Daylight,” Palsson said of the film. “The main thing is I want to capture the feeling of looking over your shoulder. I want to capture the dread, the tension, the fear of what’s waiting for you in The Fog. I love horror that stays with you after it’s over, and that’s the cinematic experience we want to bring to the big screen for you guys.”
The Dead by Daylight movie will feature iconic locations like The MacMillan Estate and Greenville. It’s expected to begin shooting in 2027.
Dead by Daylight The Life Road Chapter Launches Later This Month
Just as players get used to their games being overrun with Jason Killers, Behaviour will introduce a new Survivor-focused Chapter called The Life Road. Set to launch a little more than one week after Jason with a June 25 release date, the content update will add the game’s first Indigenous Survivor, Shane Wiigwaas, to the roster. He’ll be played by Reservation Dogs and Fallout actor Dallas Goldtooth.
First Look at Chorus of Sin Community Chapter Reveals August Release Date
One previously revealed piece of info that we learned more about during the broadcast was the upcoming Chapter developed with the community. Officially called Chorus of Sin, players can look forward to seeing how they managed to bring otherworldly horrors to Dead by Daylight when it launches with a new Killer and Survivor August 25, 2026.
Take a Seat for The Black Banquet
The year 10 Anniversary Event is officially called The Black Banquet. A first look at the limited-time event, which runs from June 25 to July 16, showed off new party-themed formal cosmetics for Killers and Survivors alike. Also, the developers teased the new desert-themed Sunflesh Collection, which will arrive as part of an upcoming Rift.
The Casting of Frank Stone Chapter Announced
In September 2024, Behaviour teamed up with Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games to release a Dead by Daylight narrative spin-off called The Casting of Frank Stone. Now, we know the game that started it all is set to receive a Chapter based on the standalone story experience in March 2027.
Mall Map Brings Liminal Horror to Dead by Daylight
Behaviour pulled back the curtain to reveal a first look at concept art for a new mall map coming to Dead by Daylight in December. The team said this particular location was born from community requests and will mix the idea of liminal spaces to deliver lore for some of the game’s oldest characters, such as everyone’s favorite Survivor, Dwight.
Ice Nine Kills x Dead by Daylight Collaboration Is Coming, and Iron Maiden Is Back for More
It’s a match made in heaven. Horror-themed metalcore band is joining Iron Maiden and Slipknot with its own in-game Collection in just two days. To help commemorate the occasion, the group has released a brand-new Dead by Daylight-themed track and music video.
Speaking of Iron Maiden, the band is celebrating its 50th anniversary by announcing that an Eddie Legendary outfit will be released for The Huntress.
The Walking Dead and Silent Hill Return
The Walking Dead is expanding on its previously released Dead by Daylight Chapter with two new Legendary outfits. While the classic zombie TV show’s presence saw the release of content based on Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Daryl Dixon, this new drop will add Glenn (August) and Negan (2027) to the game as Legendary outfits for Rick.
The Silent Hill collaboration is also being expanded upon. This June, players can expect Cheryl to eventually receive a Legendary outfit that turns her into Silent Hill f main character Shimizu Hinako. Additionall, next year, The Spirit will receive a Nurse outfit.
Diablo and Scooby-Doo Collections Will Soon Enter The Fog
Dead by Daylight’s parade of Collections included the news that two more big crossovers are coming: Diablo and Scooby-Doo. The Diablo content will take after Diablo 4, specifically, with a sneak peek showing how Lilith will enter The Fog as a Legendary outfit for The Artist. A Scooby-Doo tease, meanwhile, showed a Mystery Inc.-themed onzie outfit.
Behaviour (Still) Isn’t Doing Dead by Daylight 2
Behaviour took a small detour during the 10th Anniversary Broadcast to confirm once again that it has no plans to do Dead by Daylight 2. It’s something the team has talked about in the past, with today’s doubling down bringing the news that, instead, they will be investing into the future of the main Dead by Daylight experience in hopes of keeping it up to date for years to come.
The Dead by Daylight Visual Overhaul Is Coming in 2027
After teases from Behaviour and an unexpected cameo in the new Scary Movie reboot, we finally got more information about a facelift for The Fog. The 10th Anniversary Broadcast came with confirmation that the Dead by Daylight visual overhaul will roll out in 2027.
First information about the much-needed graphics update promised a new look for just about everything Dead by Daylight has to offer. That includes character model reworks, expanded animation capabilities, better hair, and, perhaps the most exciting addition, more realistic facial animations. New voice lines for many of the original characters are also on the way.
Maps and environments are getting upgrades, too, promising more detailed – and maybe even scarier – locations for Survivors and Killers to hide and hook in. For this corner of the Dead by Daylight visual overhaul, Behaviour told fans to expect enhanced lighting, shading, textures, improved Fog and Mist effects, a strong Entity presence, and one more major change…
Dynamic Weather Is Coming to Dead by Daylight
One last highlight from the 2027 graphics update was that dynamic weather is coming to Dead by Daylight. While the developers work to make some of its maps look better next year, fans can also look forward to light rain, heavy rain, storms, and more.
Dead by Daylight Is Getting Official Modding Support
Behaviour has confirmed that, at some point next year, Dead by Daylight will be opened to sandboxed modding. The studio said it’s working on tools that will allow players to make and share maps, modes, and more.
More Game Modes Are on the Way
Dead by Daylight fans have been asking for new game modes, and Behaviour has heard their cries. At some point in the future, two new modes will be added to the game: 1v1 and Zombie Mode. Very, very early footage of these modes promised that the former will bring a competitive edge to the world of Dead by Daylight in early 2027, while the latter looks to turn Survivors into the Undead at some point in the future.
Terrifier Enters The Fog
The theories were right: newly minted horror icon Art the Clown is joining Dead by Daylight. The bloodthirsty murderer from the Terrifier universe will join the realm of the Entity at an unspecified point in November 2026. The contents of this new update weren’t revealed, but let’s hope we get to see Art make his debut as a licensed Killer sooner rather than later.
