everything RF @ IMS 2026: Nullspace EM Full-fidelity Electromagnetic Simulation Platform

At IMS 2026, everything RF had a conversation with Nullspace CEO and Co-Founder Masha Petrova and CTO and Co-Founder Daniel Faircloth. At their booth, the co-founders talked about Nullspace EM, a full-fidelity 3D simulation tool to handle complex scenarios in aerospace, defense, radar, and advanced communications applications. The software has been developed and validated by against experimental data and real-word designs for more than 12 years, with a focus on simulation speed and accuracy of the results.

Nullspace EM was developed as an alternative to legacy electromagnetic simulation tools widely used in the industry for decades. The duo noted that these traditional solutions have seen limited architectural change, while modern RF systems increasingly require higher simulation performance and scalability. Nullspace combines full-wave electromagnetic solvers with modern computing architectures, using hybrid CPU and GPU acceleration to address large-scale simulation problems. This approach is intended to significantly improve simulation speed while maintaining full electromagnetic accuracy, even for electrically large designs.

Nullspace EM models electrically large and computationally intensive systems, including phased-array antennas, co-site interference, antenna coupling, and radar cross-section (RCS) analysis. These types of simulations are challenging for conventional tools due to their scale and complexity and form a key part of Nullspace’s application focus.

A key aspect of the platform is its Python-based workflow, which allows engineers to automate simulations and integrate the tool with external software environments. This makes it compatible with AI-enabled workflows and large language models, enabling more flexible and automated design processes.

The company positions its software as a solution for next-generation digital engineering, allowing users to simulate complete RF systems more efficiently and reduce reliance on physical prototyping. By combining high-fidelity modeling with scalable computing, the platform is designed to support faster development cycles while addressing increasingly complex electromagnetic design challenges.

Nullspace has two more simulation solutions, Nullspace Prep and Nullspace ES
