Samsung just announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event, where several new Galaxy foldable phones will be announced. The summer version Unpacked kicks off on Wednesday, July 22 in London.
Samsung promises to reveal “new form factors” for its foldable phones.
“Samsung will introduce its latest Galaxy innovations that build on its leadership in foldables, combining intelligent capabilities and new form factors to deliver more personal, adaptive experiences and set a new standard for the AI era,” the company said in a press release.
As part of the event, we expect to see Samsung announce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Additionally, a new, wider, squatter Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected, which is meant to rival Apple’s rumored iPhone Ultra.
What we expect to see at Galaxy Unpacked
With the new Samsung foldables, we might finally get a crease-free display, according to the most recent leak. Tipster Ice Universe claims the hinge on the Z Fold 8 series is “noticeably different,” which should make folding more decisive and improve the crease.
Unfortunately, it might cost more. Leaked EU pricing suggests that costs could go up by €100 for every Samsung device. So, the Z Fold 8 might start at €2,199 compared to €1,999 last year.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 9 series we expect to see at Unpacked could also be more expensive. Samsung should announce the Galaxy Watch 9 as well as the sequel Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 this year.
Finally, Samsung has announced that its Intelligent Eyewear designer smart glasses will launch this fall, but we might get another look at the new specs at Unpacked.
