NIC @IMS 2026: Custom RF Filters and Cryogenic Diplexer for Quantum Computing

At IMS 2026, everything RF met Sanil Prabhakar, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Networks International Corp. (NIC). At their booth, the company showcased its portfolio of RF and microwave filters and integrated assemblies for defense, aerospace, space, and quantum computing applications. Prabhakar explained the company’s custom engineering capabilities and highlighted several recently developed products, including a compact X-band cavity filter and a cryogenic diplexer designed for quantum computing systems.

Prabhakar showed us a compact X-band surface-mount cavity filter developed for missile applications. The filter combines the performance benefits of a cavity filter with a surface-mount package that can be reflow-mounted onto a circuit board. The design can be scaled for frequencies up to 30 GHz while maintaining a compact footprint. Learn more about the product.

Sanil also talked about a terminated C-band diplexer developed for quantum computing applications. The diplexer provides a flat rejection response within ±5 dB and is designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures approaching absolute zero, around -273°C. The device has been customer tested and has successfully operated under extremely low-temperature conditions, making it suitable for emerging quantum computing systems. It operates over a passband from DC to 5.55 GHz and has an insertion loss of up to 3 dB, a return loss of 10 dB minimum. Available as a module with SMA connectors, it is designed to maintain signal integrity and improve system stability in demanding cryogenic environments. Learn more about the product.

NIC has been designing and manufacturing RF and microwave filters for more than 40 years. The company develops custom filter solutions for military and space applications, including guidance and navigation systems, radar platforms, and airborne systems. Its product portfolio includes LC filters, cavity filters, ceramic filters, switch filter banks, filter-LNA integrated assemblies, and surface-mount filter solutions. The company also performs in-house environmental qualification testing, including thermal shock, vibration, and mechanical shock testing, and is certified to AS9100 Rev B and ISO 9001 standards.
