WhatsApp is rolling out four new features for its users, with an especially big update for iPad users.
Now, you can create a WhatsApp account directly on an iPad without having to first have it linked to a phone. You can register directly on the iPad, set up the account, and start using it without a phone. This should make a big improvement to the usability of the app on the iPad, since it debuted last year.

WhatsApp has also updated the experience in your car. Now, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can hear and respond to messages, make calls, see their call history, and reach their favorites hands free and from the car’s screen.
PDF functionality has also been improved; now, PDF files can be opened directly in the WhatsApp app without having to download them first. You can also perform basic editing like highlighting things and annotating them.
Lastly, you can also share the music they are listening to as your WhatsApp Status. If you are an Apple Music or Spotify user, you can share your currently played track to your status through their respective share screens.
The features are currently being rolled out to all users.
