Final UI for Googlebook ‘Desktop Camera’ app revealed [Gallery]

Ahead of the Googlebook launch this fall, we now have a full look at the Desktop Camera application.

The Google Play listing for “Desktop Camera” first emerged in February with placeholder screenshots. In the past few days, it has been completely overhauled.

It starts with a modern app icon that’s curiously in line with first-party Pixel apps, from the blue color to the gradient. We don’t expect Google to make any devices in the initial wave.

“Capture every moment clearly with the official Camera app.”

The Play Store description states: “Built for larger screens, tablets, and desktops, it offers a simple and intuitive experience, whether you’re using touch, a mouse, or a keyboard.” According to device leaks, Googlebooks will be available in laptop and tablet form factors.

The interface is not all that different from Pixel Camera on the Pixel Tablet, with most controls on the right edge of the screen. The photo/video switcher is in the bottom-right corner, with more settings available at the left. Under the shutter button, you can access the gallery.
