The Witcher 4 is years out, but CDPR’s 2028 window hints at a massive next‑gen overhaul for the franchise

Michał Nowakowski, the Joint-CEO of CD Projekt Red, has announced on Twitter that the company plans to release the highly-anticipated open-world RPG, The Witcher 4, sometime during the year 2028.

That is a long time to wait (The Witcher 3 came out in 2015, for reference), but CD Projekt Red will keep fans busy in the meantime with new Witcher content, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next DLC expansion, Songs of the Past, which is set to launch sometime in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
