MegiQ, a supplier of antenna measurement systems, announced a 2-axis turntable for its Radiation Measurement System (RMS). The turntable lets RMS users measure complete 3D radiation patterns, with the device rotated automatically around two axes and no manual repositioning.
The RMS is a turnkey CATR system for measuring radiation patterns, used by large and small companies worldwide. It measures radiation patterns, TRP, efficiency and directivity for linear and circular polarization, covers 370 MHz to 6 GHz depending on the model, and needs no full anechoic chamber. The complete system fits in a lab or office space.
With the new turntable, the RMS software controls both axes and the device under test is rotated through the full sphere in one automated measurement.
The 2-axis turntable is suited to wireless products such as drones, IoT devices, smartphones, metering and personal devices, as well as stand-alone antennas such as horn antennas, patch antennas and antenna arrays.
“3D radiation patterns show how a wireless product actually radiates, and that insight is essential for improving its performance in the field,” said Roger Denker, CEO of MegiQ.
