TL;DR
- Google Wallet can now connect with Gemini, letting the AI access boarding passes, event tickets, loyalty cards, rewards, and other saved information.
- Connect financial accounts through Plaid, and Gemini can analyze your transaction data, summarize spending, and suggest budgets.
- The integration is currently US-only for users 18+, and Gemini can’t make purchases or modify connected financial accounts.
Google is steadily giving Gemini access to more of the apps we already use every day, and Google Wallet appears to be next in line. The latest integration could actually be pretty useful, provided you’re comfortable giving an AI access to some fairly personal information.
So, instead of opening Wallet and digging around for an upcoming flight, for example, you could ask Gemini to pull up your boarding pass or find your airline loyalty number. Similarly, if you have several rewards and loyalty cards sitting inside Wallet, Gemini can check them and summarize the offers or benefits currently available to you.
The integration can go much further if you’ve connected financial accounts to Google Wallet through Plaid. Gemini can use transaction information from those accounts to answer questions about your spending, summarize your expenses, and even suggest budgets.
You could ask Gemini to show how much you spent on groceries last month instead of scrolling through transactions and adding everything up yourself. It can also break down where most of your money went during the month.

There are some restrictions, though. The integration is currently limited to users aged 18 or older in the US, and you’ll need to use a personal Google account with Gemini Apps Activity turned on. More importantly, Gemini isn’t being handed control of your money. It can’t use the payment methods stored in Google Wallet to make purchases, and it can’t update or delete financial accounts you’ve connected through Plaid.
I can certainly see why people would want to turn this on. Being able to ask an assistant about your flight, loyalty rewards, and monthly spending without jumping between different apps sounds convenient.
Personally, though, this is one Gemini integration I’ll probably leave switched off. I’m already fairly cautious about how much personal information I hand over to AI, and giving Gemini access to my financial activity crosses a line I’m not quite comfortable with. That said, I completely understand why others might be happy to make that trade for the added convenience.
