Garmin’s flagship Enduro 3 smartwatch was announced back in 2024, so it was about time for an upgrade. Enter the Enduro 4 – a more polished successor with twice the storage, more RAM and some new features. Just as important is the fact that the Enduro 4 retains the same price tag as its predecessor, which is rarely the case these days, especially with the rising memory prices.

Anyway, the Enduro 4 now has 50% more RAM and twice the storage at 64GB. Garmin says that this ensures an even smoother interface and 30% faster panning. There’s also a new Perspective View that allows you to look further ahead along the route you are taking.
Battery life is the same as before, so expect 320 hours of activity tracking with solar charging in mind or 90 days in smartwatch mode under the appropriate sunlight conditions. That’s at least according to the manufacturer.

The Enduro 4 achieves that with a 1.4-inch MIP display and Power Sapphire lens, so OLED is still out of the question. After all, Garmin prioritizes endurance and functionality.
Speaking of endurance, the watch ships with two new battery modes – Max Accuracy and Max Battery. The first one is designed for shorter activities with more precise tracking, while Max Battery will keep the lights on during ultra marathons, for example.
Grade-adjusted workout targets and rolling pace now account for the hills when assessing effort, while the new stamina zones and stamina curves show how your endurance is changing over time or in a single activity.
Some of the existing activities get more tracking data, like indoor rowing, which now shows VO2 max, for example.
Design-wise, it’s the same watch as before. It’s slightly heavier at 68 grams with a 51mm chassis, but still packs the titanium bezel, fiber-reinforced polymer case, 10 ATM water resistance, and the LED flashlight is still intact. The device does get a new ComfortFit Fabric Band with QuickFit support, though, which is made of moisture-wicking fabric.

In addition to the Enduro 4, Garmin also announced a brand-new Approach S72 flagship watch, designed with golfers in mind. It comes in 43mm and 47mm flavors with an OLED display, the same Sapphire Lens, titanium bezel and the ComfortFit fabric band.
Of course, it provides more data than just the simple yardage information. For instance, the Approach S72 tracks hand speed, backswing length, wrist rotation, etc.
With the Garmin Golf Membership, the S72 can also give you readings on select courses, post-round analytics and aerial imagery of the course to help you plan your shots better.

The Approach S72 is Garmin’s first golf-centric watch with a loudspeaker and a microphone, so you can take calls directly from the watch. It also supports voice commands for certain tasks.
The 47mm variant will last you 20 hours on the course or up to 15 days without GPS.
The Enduro 4 goes on sale in the USA on October 9, asking $899, while the Approach S72 is priced at $799.
