Windows does come with a multi-clipboard on its latest iterations, but third-party clipboard managers usually offer not just larger storage limits, but also additional features to make it worth installing a different application.
Snipboard is a clear proof: it delivers a clipboard manager that enhances the default functionality in Windows with entries that are kept forever, built-in clipboard search, custom favorites to pin, shareable content and a dock-like GUI that perfectly integrates with the modern Windows environment.
Multiple clipboard with built-in search
Snipboard is easily installed and, once you go through the tutorial, it stays hidden in the tray area, capturing all the clipboard entries, whether it is text, images or another file. To toggle it, you need to press the well-known shortcut for the clipboard history in Windows, Win+V, as Snipboard is designed to replace it.
Once the shortcut key is pressed, Snipboard displays its docked GUI at the edge of the screen or a compact one, depending on your choice. The dock-like window bundles all the clipboard entries, displaying the most recent ones first. You might notice that Snipboard brings to the table support for all types of files, storing new clipboard entries for files alongside text snippets. I would have liked it to display an image preview of the images in the clipboard history, but I reckon this feature might be available in the next releases.
There is a built-in search that allows looking for a specific entry through the entire list, while frequently used content can be pinned for faster access.
Share your clipboard history and transfer files with ease
One of the highlight features of Snipboard is its capability to share clipboard entries across multiple devices in the same network. In other words, the application allows pairing with other devices to sync the clipboard history and pinned items.
To do so, you need to create a so-called sharing group. Devices are allowed to connect by providing a uniquely generated code. Once paired, devices share clipboard content without having to move content manually or sending messages to yourself.
When I first saw this feature, I immediately wondered if it is also possible to transfer files using a simple copy-paste operation via Snipboard. The answer is yes: once two devices are paired, transferring files between them only requires you to copy a file from one computer and paste it in the desired location on the other.
Highly-customizable and feature-rich clipboard manager for Windows
Snipboard allows you to quickly find and paste text snippets, links, images and files that were copied to the Windows clipboard, since it provides a reliable clipboard manager and sharing tool. It is definitely worth trying since it brings new features to the table, providing not just a multiple clipboard tool, but also a way to perform network file transfers with less effort and fewer steps.
