Honor Win2 teased once again with world’s first 2K 185Hz display

Honor is preparing to launch the Win2 series that consists of the Win2 itself, the Win2 RT and the Win2 Turbo. The Win2 series shapes up to be an interesting tech showcase since it’s defined by an active cooling fan and massive batteries – the standard Win2 is said to offer a 10,100 mAh battery, while the Win2 RT will run on an even bigger 12,070 mAh battery.

But while we are waiting for the release next week, Honor continues to tease its handsets. However, the latest teaser actually comes from Visionox, a display panel manufacturer. According to a post on Weibo, all three Win2 phones will boast the world’s first 2K 185Hz display.

Visionox says that while most manufacturers sacrifice resolution in favor of refresh rate, the company worked closely with Honor to develop a panel that doesn’t have to compromise.

To complement the extremely high refresh rate, the panel also supports a 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and a 520Hz reporting rate for ten-finger touch. The bezels measure just 0.93mm on all four sides, while 5,920Hz PWM dimming will keep your eyes fresh during long gaming sessions.

It’s obvious that the Win2 series will be a gaming-oriented series powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC. Still, we wonder whether the high-refresh-rate game will actually be achievable. So far, we’ve tested numerous devices with refresh rates higher than 120Hz, but none of them could actually deliver outside of select gaming titles.
