At EuMW 2026, everything RF stopped by the Teledyne e2v Semiconductors booth, where the company showcased its latest high-speed data converter technologies for communications, radar, and electronic warfare applications. European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2026, held from 4-9 October at ExCeL London, is Europe’s premier event for the RF, microwave, mmWave, and radar industry, bringing together the companies and technologies shaping the future of high-frequency engineering. At the event, Teledyne e2v highlighted a number of products including the EV10AS940 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and the EV12DD700 digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
EV10AS940 ADC
The EV10AS940 is a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed for direct RF sampling applications. It supports sampling rates of up to 12.8 GSps and offers an ultra-wide input bandwidth of up to 33 GHz, enabling the direct digitization of signals across a wide range of microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. The ADC integrates digital signal processing functions including digital down-conversion and frequency translation capabilities, making it suitable for software-defined radio, satellite communications, radar, instrumentation, and electronic warfare systems.
At the booth, Teledyne e2v demonstrated the EV10AS940 in a satellite communications application using a 28.7 GHz DVB-S2 signal. In the test setup, the signal was digitized by the ADC on an evaluation board before being processed by an FPGA and PC platform. The demonstration explored whether the amount of data being captured could be reduced while still allowing the original information to be recovered accurately.
The initial reference test used all available samples to recover the transmitted signal. Teledyne e2v then applied non-uniform sampling, reducing the dataset to just 25% of the original samples. Although the resulting signal exhibited higher noise levels, the system maintained a zero bit error rate, demonstrating that the transmitted information could still be recovered successfully despite the significant reduction in sampled data. The demonstration highlighted the potential for reducing data throughput and processing requirements in high-bandwidth communication systems while preserving signal integrity.
EV12DD700 DAC
The EV12DD700 is a dual-channel, 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for direct RF signal generation in high-frequency communications, radar, electronic warfare, and beamforming applications. The device supports conversion rates of up to 12 GSps and provides an output bandwidth of up to 25 GHz, enabling signal generation into the Ka-band. The DAC integrates a range of digital processing functions, including interpolation, digital up-conversion (DUC), direct digital synthesis (DDS), programmable complex mixing, and beamforming capabilities, allowing more RF functionality to be implemented in the digital domain.
At EuMW 2026, the EV12DD700 was highlighted alongside the EV10AS940 ADC as part of Teledyne e2v’s latest high-speed data conversion portfolio. The two devices were presented as complementary solutions for next-generation RF systems, with the EV10AS940 enabling direct RF signal digitization and the EV12DD700 providing high-frequency signal generation capabilities. Together, they support applications requiring wide bandwidths, advanced digital signal processing, and direct conversion architectures for communications, radar, and electronic warfare systems.
