Obsbot Meet Flip review: This tiny 4K webcam folds away for privacy and portability

For capturing movement, 1080p at 60 frames per second is often more suitable. Gestures appear smoother, and the lower resolution places less strain on the computer and the connection. 4K30 is suitable for quiet presentations or local recordings. The 4x digital zoom noticeably sacrifices detail. The image remains usable up to the 2x level.

The Meet Flip combines an omnidirectional microphone with a directional one. You can choose between a directional mode for individuals, a bidirectional mode for conversations, and Smart Omni for groups. Pure Audio outputs the unprocessed sound on separate channels. In the other modes, automatic gain control and AI noise cancellation are active. Voices are clearly audible at a desk. Depending on the mode, distance, and keyboard used, keystrokes may still be audible. For streams or voice recordings, a separate microphone produces a fuller sound.

In terms of price, the Meet Flip sits sensibly between its sister models. The Meet SE costs $69, but is limited to Full HD and uses a smaller sensor. The Meet 2 also delivers 4K, costs $149 euros and, with its separate mount, is less suitable for travel. For mobile users, the Meet Flip offers the best balance between image quality and space requirements.

Should you buy the Obsbot Meet Flip?

The Obsbot Meet Flip convincingly delivers on its promise of portability. It fits easily into a laptop bag, requires no separate monitor mount and protects the lens when folded away. It’s quick to set up at your desk. The 4K image is impressive in good light, with plenty of detail, and the phase-detection autofocus responds reliably. OBSBOT Centre enhances the camera with auto-framing, gesture control and handy presentation features.
