Tritium – Download – Softpedia

Tritium is a Word processor specifically designed for lawyers or anyone handling contracts and legal documents on a daily basis. While it works like other text editors, the app can streamline tasks that legal professionals are likely to perform.

Provides a simple way to create and modify Word documents

The interface is not impressive and it’s stripped clean of all menus and buttons that Word typically includes. Perhaps the most appealing part is that you can skip digging through menus or jumping through windows to have two files side by side.

The idea behind the tool is to offer a simple environment where you can write contracts, track changes clearly, manage legal terms, compare drafts and work with related documents at the same time. While you’re reading documents, the app automatically highlights special terms like names or dates, for example, and can show where the terms are used or explained across your documents.

Besides Word documents, the program also supports PDF files, which may or may not be editable. Nevertheless, the PDF files can come in handy when you’re reviewing scanned papers, client-provided documents or other referral materials.

Supports redlining, so you get to keep the original text

In legal work, even small changes in wording can have big consequences and this is why the app supports redlining, so that everyone involved can see what’s been changed and decide whether they agree with it before accepting the final version. Within the app, redlining works by highlighting only the meaningful content changes, thus making it easier to follow the flow of edits and reducing clutter.

Tritium can come in handy to legal professionals who typically work with lots of contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements and similar documents. Not only does it provide a sleek way to write or draft a paper, but it also tracks changes, defines terms and can search across all documents in all in one place.
