XL-Connector 365 is an add-in that links your spreadsheets with Salesforce. In practice, the tool lets you pull data from Salesforce into Excel, edit or analyze it there using all the usual features, including formulas, pivot tables or charts. After you make your changes, the data can be pushed back into Salesforce effortlessly.
Helps you handle lots of Salesforce data at once
Before you can get started, first you need to connect the add-in to Salesforce and export the data. To do so, you can by pulling an existing report from the dedicated button with the same name. Another way to grab data from Salesforce is via the GetData option, but here you will have to build a SOQL query where you select the desired data and check the fields to pull.
It goes without saying that each row in Excel represents a record in Salesforce and the columns match the fields you selected, like Name, Account type or any custom field. From there, you can analyze, edit and prepare the data however you want before pushing any changes back.
The idea behind the extension is to provide you with a simpler way to handle lots of data at once, without having to open records one by one. If you need to update hundreds of customer records or add a big list of new leads, you can do it in seconds from Excel.
Can lend a hand with cleaning messy data
Duplicates in Salesforce can cause a lot of problems, as it can lead to confusing reports, wasted emails and even some errors in sales or marketing workflows. XL-Connector 365 can handle dupes by letting you merge them in bulk and you can also remove incorrect or old data all at once. The add-in can be used to migrate data, including big sets, which means few human mistakes.
