Huawei officially confirmed the Pura 90 Plus earlier today and opened pre-orders for it in China ahead of its October 28 launch. The company hasn’t revealed any specs yet, but units of the phone are already on display in its retail stores, and the live images that have started showing up online answer one important question.
The About phone screen of one of the display units lists the new Kirin 9025 chipset, 12GB of RAM, a 2848×1276 screen resolution, HarmonyOS 7, and the LCI-AL00 model number. The Pura 90 Plus is the first phone to use the Kirin 9025, which a tipster claimed earlier today is an overclocked version of the Kirin 9020. The other photos show off its curved sides and the triangular camera island in the Sunset Purple color.

Another tipster now says that the Pura 90 Plus offers a 19% overall performance improvement over the Pura 80 Pro, which runs on the Kirin 9020. The same tipster also claims the Kirin 9025 performs on par with the Kirin 9030S found in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max. Obviously, we’ll have to wait for benchmarks to see how well that holds up.
The handset reportedly has a 6.8-inch curved 1.5K LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and according to a previous leak, it will get a 50MP 1-inch type RYYB main camera with a variable aperture. Huawei has already confirmed 12GB of RAM with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, and Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Sunset Purple, and Snowy White color options. That’s all very similar to the Pura 80 Pro, which also has a 6.8-inch 1276×2848 screen and a 1-inch type 50MP main camera with a variable aperture. We’ll learn the rest, including pricing, on October 28.
