Xiaomi’s first clip-on style buds, suitably named the Xiaomi Clip-on, were unveiled back in May alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max launch. Today, the company is introducing the Redmi K100 and the Redmi Clip Neo buds appeared alongside.
This style of buds clips around your ear instead of relying on friction to stay in your ear. The Clip Neo in particular relies on 0.6mm flexible memory titanium wire to give them some springiness – this has survived 25,000 bending tests. Skin-friendly silicone is used on the “inside” parts that touch your ear for long-term comfort. Each bud only weighs 5.3g.

The buds feature 12mm drivers with a dual-magnetic design that boosts the volume by 40%. Diamond coating on the diaphragm enables faster transient response. Two microphones enable AI-powered noise reduction for calls, but not for audio. There is a built-in 10-band equalizer with custom settings and four presets.
The buds can last up to 7 hours on a single charge and the charging case extends that to a total of 32 hours. They support multi-point connectivity and fast connection when you open the case.
The Redmi Clip Neo have something you rarely see on buds – a physical button on each bud. This handles playback controls (one press for pause, two for next track, three for previous track) and can summon an AI assistant with a long press – this also works on iPhones, by the way, not just on Android.

The Redmi Clip Neo are available in China from Xiaomi’s online store. They cost CNY 400, which converts to $60 / €54 / ₹5,700. There is also a limited-edition version that comes with a CryingCenter-branded carrying pouch, a sticker set and custom gift box packaging. This version is only slightly more at CNY 450. For comparison, the Xiaomi Clip-on buds are twice as expensive – they launched at CNY 800.
