At EuMW 2026, HUBER+SUHNER showcased its latest developments in antenna technologies, high-frequency test and measurement cables, multicoax connectivity, and aerospace and defense applications. At their booth, everything RF met Francesco Merli, Vice President of Wireless Connectivity for Product Management and Research & Development, and Daniel Troxler, Product Manager for RF Connectivity Solutions, who presented the company’s developments across wireless and RF connectivity technologies.
European Microwave Week (EuMW), held from 4-9 October in London this year, is Europe’s premier event for the RF, microwave, mmWave, and radar industry, bringing together the companies and technologies shaping the future of high-frequency engineering.
Metallized Plastic Antenna Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing
Francesco Merli highlighted HUBER+SUHNER’s developments in metallized plastic technologies for high-frequency antenna applications. The company has been advancing these proprietary manufacturing technologies from an initial development concept into solutions that can be implemented across multiple platforms. Merli outlined three areas of development covering automotive radar antennas, alternative manufacturing techniques, and high-frequency components.
The first area focuses on single-layer metallized plastic antenna structures for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). By combining a single-layer metallized plastic antenna with a printed circuit board (PCB), HUBER+SUHNER can create antenna assemblies that simplify integration and manufacturing. This approach is intended to address the performance, assembly, and cost requirements of automotive radar systems, where antenna designs must support high-frequency operation while remaining suitable for volume manufacturing. Merli also highlighted the company’s work with semiconductor manufacturers, including Texas Instruments, Infineon, and NXP, in developing wireless and RF technologies. These collaborations support the development of antenna solutions compatible with different platforms and application requirements.

The third development demonstrates the extension of additive manufacturing techniques to extremely high frequencies. HUBER+SUHNER presented in-house 3D-printed components operating at 950 GHz, illustrating the potential of these manufacturing processes for sub-terahertz applications. The assembled 3D-printed structures achieved performance values comparable to precision-machined gold reference components, indicating progress in the use of additive manufacturing for high-frequency RF structures. SUCOFLEX 500 Test Cables and High-Speed Multicoax Connectivity
Daniel Troxler, Product Manager for RF Connectivity Solutions, introduced HUBER+SUHNER’s RF connectivity solutions for test and measurement, high-speed digital testing, and quantum computing applications. The first products highlighted were the SUCOFLEX 500 series of high-performance RF cable assemblies, designed for accurate and repeatable measurements at frequencies up to 70 GHz. These cable assemblies are intended for demanding test and measurement environments where maintaining consistent RF performance during repeated measurements is important.
The SUCOFLEX 500 series is available with various connector configurations, cable jackets, and protective armor options, allowing users to select assemblies based on their measurement setup and environmental requirements. These configurations make the cables suitable for applications in RF test laboratories and manufacturing facilities where measurement repeatability, mechanical flexibility, and durability are important considerations.
Troxler also presented HUBER+SUHNER’s multicoax connectivity portfolio for high-speed digital testing. These solutions are available in 1×8 and 2×8 configurations and support frequencies up to 125 GHz. He particularly highlighted the MXPD 125, the latest addition to the company’s multicoax product series, which extends its high-frequency connectivity capabilities for advanced testing applications. Multicoax interconnects integrate multiple coaxial RF connections into a compact interface, reducing the space required for individual connections. Such configurations are useful in high-density testing environments, where multiple high-frequency signal paths must be connected within a limited physical area.
Another area highlighted during the presentation was RF connectivity for quantum computing. HUBER+SUHNER provides components designed to operate across temperature environments ranging from room temperature to cryogenic conditions. The portfolio includes RF cable assemblies, attenuators, and hermetically sealed feedthroughs, available for both individual channels and high-density multicoax configurations.
Compared with conventional single-channel connections, multicoax solutions enable a higher density of RF channels within the same physical space. This is particularly relevant to quantum computing systems, where increasing the number of channels creates additional requirements for compact interconnects and signal routing between different temperature stages.
RF Connectivity Solutions for Aerospace and Defense
HUBER+SUHNER’s aerospace and defense (A&D) connectivity portfolio focuses on components designed for systems where reliable signal transmission and mechanical durability are important. The company’s A&D connectivity solutions include RF connectors, cables, cable assemblies, harnesses, and lightning protection components. These products are used across different platforms, including military and specialized vehicles, radar systems, aircraft, and satellites.
