draw.io is a diagram-making application that lets you create visual diagrams instead of explaining things only with text. You can build diagrams from scratch or start with templates, customize everything in the editor, and work with your diagrams directly inside other apps and services through its integrations.
Comes with a large built-in, customizable template library
The interface has the main workspace in the center, shape and diagram tools on the left, and formatting options on the right. You can simply drag shapes onto the canvas, connect them, and adjust their appearance using the controls around the workspace.
The application has a large built-in template library organized by diagram type, profession and use case. More importantly, the templates aren’t just fixed examples that you look at, as you can insert a template into the editor and modify it. You can change the text, shapes, connections, layout, colors and other elements to fit your specific needs.
Change the diagrams using the dedicated editor
The app comes with an editor where you build and customize your diagrams, using a simple drag-and-drop approach similar to familiar office or drawing programs. You can add shapes and connectors, type labels, create tables and flowcharts, change colors and fonts, search for icons, and start from ready-made templates instead of building everything from scratch.
You can create a diagram completely from scratch in the editor if you want. You simply start with a blank canvas, drag the shapes you need onto it, connect them with lines or arrows, add text and customize the colors, sizes, and layout yourself.
Can be integrated into many third-party platforms
You use draw.io inside tools you may already work with, rather than having to create a diagram separately and then move it around. For example, you can store diagrams in Google Drive, OneDrive, GitHub, or Dropbox. Moreover, you can create or edit them directly in platforms such as Microsoft Office, Notion, Confluence, Jira, and even VS Code.
